A Colorful, Laid-Back Studio Newborn Session in Columbus

One of my favorite things about photographing families is seeing their personalities come through in the little details, especially what they choose to wear. This Columbus studio newborn session was full of color, vintage-inspired pieces, and the kind of effortless, lived-in style that I love.

Mom has the best eye for secondhand finds, and she pulled together a wardrobe that felt playful without being overly coordinated. Soft denim, cozy knits, worn-in textures, and little pops of color all worked together in a way that felt completely natural to their family. Nothing was too precious or perfectly matched, and that was exactly what made it so good.

With three little ones, we kept things casual and let the session unfold as it happened. There were snuggles, movement, and plenty of those in-between moments that often become my favorite photographs. I love how this gallery feels like a little collection of family memories rather than a perfectly posed newborn session.

Your newborn photographs don't have to look like anyone else's. Whether your family gravitates toward soft neutrals, colorful vintage finds, or your favorite well-loved pieces, I always encourage you to bring a little of yourselves into the session. Those personal details are what make your photographs feel like yours, and I think that's what makes them worth holding onto.
